Alcove of Hannah
An artist peering into many areas.
I am a freelance artist who provides Illustrations and Animation.
To me, there is a paradox between focusing on improving a single style of work vs constantly changing and experimenting.
Exploring different styles shows that I’m constantly changing as a person. Being adaptable to any style proves I can work with unfamiliar projects. But then I have a harder time being recognized for specific styles. Focusing on few or one style gives me the time to improve on that style and will be recognizable by others. One that captures my personality. But as a result, I’m neglecting diversifying my skills. And skills elsewhere risk deteriorating.
I work to strike a balance between intentionally experimenting with my style and finding a style that suits me. I’m always trying different techniques with my works, while there are certain motifs and themes that repeat in several pieces.
The reason why I experiment is because I want to be able to improve my abilities and expand my views. I will always be changing as a person, so what I want with my art will be changing with me. But I want to have a distinct style that shows my own personality.
